Technetium Tc 99m Generator

DESCRIPTION

This terminally sterilized generator provides a closed automatic system for the production of
sterile metastable technetium Tc-99m, according to the U.S.P. 24 TH requiriment.
The activities, all described as  99m Tc, for the calibration date marked on the Surface of the container
are: 7.400 MBq (200 mCi), 9.250 MBq (250 mCi), 18.500 MBq (500 mCi), 27.750 MBq (750 mCi),
37.000 MBq (1000 mCi) and 55.500 MBq (1500 mCi).

Clinical Characteristics

Sodium Pertechnetate Tc 99m solution is used as an agent for:

  • Thyroid Imaging
  • Salivary Gland Imaging
  • Ectopic gastric mucose localization
  • Preparation of diagnostic radiopharmaceutical kits.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
The suggested dose ranges employed for various diagnostic indications in the average ADULT
PATIENT (70kg) are as follows:

Salivary Gland Imaging: 18.5 – 80 MBq (0.5 – 2.2 mCi)

Meckel diverticulum diagnosis: 400 MBq (10.8 mCi)

Preparation of diagnostic radiopharmaceutical kits, as described in the
labeling of these diagnostic radiopharmaceutical kits

CHARACTERISTICS:

Sterile, non-pyrogenic isotonic radioactive solution of Sodium Pertechnetate Tc 99m can be
obtained conveniently by periodic aseptic elution of the generator. These solutions should be
clear, colorless, and free from any particulate matter. The Sodium Pertechnetate Tc 99m
Injection is suitable for intravenous injection and direct instillation. Radiochemical purity (RCP)
higher tan 95%.
